Mundelein, IL | -
In the spring of 2002 Railroad Controls Limited in conjunction with the Village of Mundelein, the Illinois Commerce Commission and the Canadian National nine Automated Horn Systems were installed to eliminate train horn noise in the Villages of Mundelein, Vernon Hills and Libertyville. Northwestern University's Center for Public Safety was commissioned to conduct a study of the effectiveness of the Automated Horn System. The report found that the Automated Horn System reduced gate violations (drivers going around the downed crossing gates) by 70% and reduced noise pollution in the surrounding neighborhoods by 85%! Both Metra and the Canadian National operates on this rail line.

Roseville, CA | -
The city of Roseville, CA in attempt to eliminate train horn noise in their community installed two Automated Horn Systems in Fall of 2003. The Automated Horn Systems were installed on the Union Pacific Railroad on Yosemite Street and Tahoe Street.

Riverside, CA | -
Riverside, CA located approximately 60 miles west of Los Angeles installed six Automated Horn Systems in the Summer 2004 in an effort to eliminate train horn noise. The six crossings have a cumulative average of 90,000 cars per day and are on the Union Pacific Railroad.

Austin, TX | -
Railroad Controls Limited in conjunction with Capital Metro installed three Four - Quadrant Gate Systems utilizing our Exit Gate Management System and one crossing with the Automated Horn System. These systems were installed in the Summer of 2004 in an effort to eliminate train horn noise in several neighborhoods in the Austin area.

Railroad Controls Limited installed one Automated Horn System on the New Jersey Transit line at Farnsworth Avenue in Bordentown, NJ in the Spring of 2004 to eliminate train horn noise for the surrounding residences and businesses.

109th Street Evergreen Park, IL | -
CSX Blue Island, IL - RCL, CSX Transportation, the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC), Illinois State Representative Kevin Joyce, and the Illinois General Assembly worked together to provide a 4-mile, 14-crossing quiet zone extending through parts of Blue Island, Evergreen Park and Chicago. Ten of the crossings utilize the EGMS for four-quadrant gate control, while four crossings utilize median barriers.
